P.T.O. - Power Take Off shaft

P.T.O. - Power Take Off shaft

How is a PTO shaft for the power take-off measured?

1) Either the length has already been pushed together (L1) "only possible when removed" or you have the installation length of the PTO shaft when installed. Approx. 40% of the maximum possible length compensation is then deducted from the installation length to determine the L1 dimension.

Example: Installation length 800 mm, the maximum possible length compensation is usually 110 mm (see our article description) 40% of 110 is 44mm, i.e. 800mm-44mm=756mm (i.e. either 750mm or 760mm pushed together :-)

2) FL1+FL2 = FL1 in the connection on the length compensation, this should always be on the power output side of the vehicle, i.e. usually on the gearbox and FL2 on the compressor.

3) Connection - First of all, we differentiate between the type. In the vast majority of cases, a distinction is made between DIN, SAE and cross-toothed. How do you recognize the correct connection type? Example:

Common connection types for power take-off drive shafts

DIN

FL_DIN_6

usually with negative centering (recess) with 4/6/8 holes

SAE

FL_SAE_4

usually with positive centering (recess) with 4 holes

Kreuzverzahnt

FL_21

Centering takes place via cross toothing with 4 drilled holes
